Larry Baer, SF Giants CEO Credited With Steering The Massively Voted Projects In San Francisco

Other than being the Giants CEO, Larry Baer has also headed some of the magnificent projects in the affiliates of Giants. Baer was appointed as the chairman and CEO of Giants Development Services that has been tasked with the development of Mission Rock. This is a project located on a 28-acre site from Oracle Park across McCovey Cove that is aimed at building new, mixed-use urban neighborhoods.

The project received overwhelming approval from San Francisco voters in 2015, garnering 73% of the total votes cast. It is estimated that once the project is accomplished, it will include over eight acres of open space and parks, approximately 1,500 residential houses, office space of approximately 1.3 million square feet, restaurants, and a myriad of public amenities.

In the year 1980, the Giants CEO, Larry Baer earned Phi Beta Kappa honors at the prestigious University of California. It is immediately after earning the honors that Larry joined the Giants and served as the club’s marketing director. After passionately working for two years, the SF Giants CEO, left the club to attend the prestigious Harvard Business School.

After completion of his studies, Larry was privileged to get a position at the Westinghouse Broadcasting in New York and San Francisco. The Giants CEO later moved to CBS Inc. working as a special assistant to the network in New York.

Throughout his career at Giants, the Giants CEO have been a recipient of numerous prestigious awards. They include the sports Torch of Learning Award by the Scopus Society of the American Friends of the Hebrew University in 1995, the San Francisco Distinguished Leadership Award for civic leadership in 1996 among others.
